Ablaze!

“We shall live the Great Commission” is proudly displayed in the offices of our church – quoted from Matthew 28:18-20. We also see the “You are now entering the mission field” signs as you leave our church campus. These reminders should invoke in our hearts the importance of spreading the Gospel from St. Paul as Jesus Christ commands us.

We are partnering with the Ablaze!® effort, which is to involve every member of the LCMS, its partner church bodies, and partner mission agencies in one focused and concentrated effort to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who do not yet know Him. It is the goal of LCMS World Mission that there would be a movement of individuals, groups, congregations, etc., all committed to reaching 100 million unreached and uncommitted people with the Gospel by 2017, which is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

We are encouraging everyone to share their stories of how the Holy Spirit moved them to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with friends, relatives, co-workers; from the bus stop to the airplane terminal to the grocery store. Possibilities abound for us to reach out to souls in our everyday life—all that is necessary is praying for the Holy Spirit in us each day to make us aware of the opportunities as God presents them to us and the courage to act on them.
