Parish Nurses

A volunteer core group of nurses meet monthly to assess the health needs of our congregation and plan programs to meet those needs. Programs such as Health Fairs, CPR Training, Walking, and Blood Pressure Screening are some of the projects they are presently working on. Their goal is to someday have a part-time Parish Nurse on staff. Contact the Church Office at (734) 676-1565 if you would like to be part of this ministry or have ideas as to how we can better meet the physical needs of our members and the community.

Parish Nurse Hotline

Did you ever wish you could ask a nurse a question without making a doctor’s office appointment? Perhaps you have a question about your medicine or a symptom you are having. Maybe you are wondering where to turn to get help for caring for a sick relative. If you’ve lost your health insurance or your job, you might be looking for free or lower cost health or dental care. Perhaps you were given a new diagnosis and want more information about it.

You can now call the Parish Nurse Hotline at 734-676-1565 Ext. 190 and leave a message on the voicemail. One of our parish nurses will respond to your message on the same or next business day. Your conversation will be kept confidential. If the nurses do not have an answer for your question, they will try to put you in touch with someone who can help you. Parish nurses do not do “hands on” nursing, i.e. changing bandages, giving shots, but they can help you find the resources to meet your needs.
